NEW YORK - AXA, a leader in financial protection and retirement, announced today that it is an official gold sponsor of NYC Pride 2016 (June 20-26), one of the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) events in the nation.
“AXA has a long and proud history of supporting the LGBT community. We look forward to continuing to send our message of support, particularly to those affected by the tragedy in Orlando, through our sponsorship of NYC Pride as well as our companywide participation,” said David Karr, chairman of AXA Advisors and executive sponsor of the AXA Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). “Diversity and inclusion are part of AXA’s core values, and we are committed to fostering a culture that enables every employee to bring their whole selves to work each day.”
AXA was an industry pioneer in offering insurance benefits to same-sex couples, and the company was recently recognized as one of the “best places to work” for LGBT equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, earning a perfect score of 100 percent on their 2016 Corporate Equality Index for a third consecutive year. AXA’s Global and National ERGs, “Allies@AXA Pride” and “AXA Pride” both create and sustain an AXA presence in the LGBT community, fostering advocacy and action across the 64 countries where AXA’s employees and clients live and work.
