AXA announces sponsorship with Data Driven NYC, prioritizing data-centered knowledge

Financial protection company seeks to learn more about data-driven opportunities by sponsoring and hosting Data Driven NYC Meetups

NEW YORK – AXA Equitable, a leader in providing financial security and retirement products, announced today that it will be sponsoring four upcoming Data Driven NYC Meetups at AXA Auditorium, 787 Seventh Ave.

Insurance companies rely on data for underwriting and use predictive and optimization models in many different business processes. Modern technology is creating an increasingly data rich environment providing a wealth of behavioral insights as well as tools to analyze this data. Therefore, insurers have more information at their disposal than ever before as additional data sources become more available.

Data Driven NYC is a community of tech enthusiasts who are passionate about data technologies (Big Data, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning). The community, organized by NYC venture capital firm FirstMark, has become the largest of its kind in the United States, with over 10,000 members.  Data Driven NYC hosts monthly events focused on the leading edge of the data revolution: emerging startups, products and technologies; new business models and funding trends; and ways for both startups and large corporations to leverage data to accelerate their business and build competitive advantage.  Speakers are typically founders, CEOs or CTOs of data startups; prominent data scientists; and CTOs or Chief Data Officers of large corporations.

  • Peter Fenton, General Partner at Benchmark (premier Silicon Valley VC firm; #2 on the Midas List) 
  • Kieran Snyder, Founder and CEO of Textio (Artificial intelligence (AI) powered platform that predicts how text will perform before it's published) 
  • Eric Colson, Chief Algorithms Officer at Stitch Fix (curated personal styling e-commerce platform)
