NEW YORK – AXA, a leading financial protection company, announced today that it is an official gold sponsor of NYC Pride 2017, one of the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) events in the nation.
“We are extremely proud to be a part of NYC Pride through our sponsorship as well as our companywide participation,” said David Karr, chairman of AXA Advisors and executive sponsor of the AXA Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). “At AXA, diversity and inclusion are embedded in our values and our practice, and we are committed to creating a truly inclusive workplace and organization that reflects the customers we serve and the communities in which we live and work.”
AXA was an industry pioneer in offering insurance benefits to same-sex couples, and the company was recently recognized as one of the “best places to work” for LGBT equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, earning a perfect score of 100 percent on their 2017 Corporate Equality Index for the fourth consecutive year. AXA’s Global and National ERGs, “Allies@AXA Pride” and “AXA Pride” both create and sustain an AXA presence in the LGBT community, fostering advocacy and action across the 64 countries where AXA’s employees and clients live and work.
- On June 24th, the “AXA Pride” ERG and “AXA Fit” employee community group are teaming up to participate in the 35th annual Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run in Central Park.
- On June 25th, AXA employees will march down Fifth Avenue in the largest Pride celebration in the world. Be on the lookout for the AXA float!
- After the March, participants can visit the AXA booth at PrideFest, the annual LGBT street fair and concert series located on Hudson Street between Abingdon Square and West 14th street.
Following the NYC Pride March, AXA Advisors will be hosting an LGBT Summit June 26-27 in New York City. Entering its 7th year, this annual educational conference is attended by our dedicated teams of financial professionals and provides a forum to discuss how best to serve the life and retirement needs of the LGBT community.
