AXA celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month

The company will sponsor the Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival and “Flavors of Asia” event in New York City in celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month

NEW YORK – AXA, a financial protection and retirement industry leader, announced today that it is an official gold sponsor of the 2017 Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival, to be held on May 13th.  Following the festival, on May 17th AXA is sponsoring the “Flavors of Asia:  A Culinary Experience” event at the Museum of Chinese in America in New York City in celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month (May 2017).  Both events are coordinated and sponsored in part by The Pan Asian Resource Council (PARC), AXA’s culturally diverse Employee Resource Group (ERG) that is committed to advancing a deeper understanding among AXA employees of the greater Asian cultures.

The Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival

 This is AXA’s 3rd year participating in the Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival, and the first time the company is a gold sponsor of the event.  The festival will be held at Ramsey Creek Park on Lake Norman in Cornelius, North Carolina on May 13, 2017.  Come by and cheer on AXA’s teams, the AXA Power Paddlers and the AXA Water Warriors, as they compete after weeks of morning practices and rigorous training to prepare for the races.  Along with the Dragon Boat races, the Charlotte Asian Festival will also take place on the same day at Ramsey Creek Park, a family-friendly festival that is designed to celebrate the traditions and unique Asian-Pacific cultures represented in the greater Charlotte region.    

Flavors of Asia: A Culinary Experience

AXA is also sponsoring the “Flavors of Asia: A Culinary Experience” event presented by the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) at the Museum of Chinese in America (MoCA) on May 17, 2017 in New York City.  Guests will travel across Asia’s culinary landscape sampling delicious dishes from local restaurants, and they will have the opportunity to meet the chefs behind MoCA’s Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Spicy: Stories of Chinese Food and Identity in America exhibition, currently on view through September 10, 2017.
