Leaders of Today meet Leaders of Tomorrow as AXA celebrates Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, AXA employees and financial professionals engaged in various activities celebrating African American culture and history, led by the AXA BLACC (Building Leadership & Cultural Connections) Employee Resource Group.  From mid-January through the end of February, these events included a guided tour at the Met Breuer Museum in NYC to view works by the artist Kerry James Marshall, a special Toastmasters event highlighting black history, African dance and storytelling performances, and much more.

The celebrations culminated with an all-day event at AXA’s NYC headquarters for local high school students participating in the National Black MBA Association’s Leaders of Tomorrow program.  The day began with breakfast and a discussion about resume writing, followed by an information session about the AXA Foundation and AXA Achievementsm scholarship opportunities.  The students heard tips on how building a personal brand can help with college and job applications from various members of AXA’s Human Resources team, including a talk with Marine de Boucaud, Chief Human Resources Officer of AXA US.  The students also participated in a Young Professionals panel discussion where AXA employees were able to share their knowledge, experiences and insights along with valuable tips to help the students succeed in the future. The day closed with a speed networking event where students met with AXA executives, employees, and financial professionals.

We invite you to watch our recap video below to find out more about the Leaders of Tomorrow event, hear feedback from students that were in attendance, and see highlights from the various Black History Month activities that took place throughout many of AXA’s US locations.
