Head of Employee Benefits
Hervé Balzano is the head of AXA’s Employee Benefits business in the U.S.
With a track record of success in the global employee benefits market, Balzano joins AXA U.S. after 15 years with AXA S.A. and AXA France in Paris. Previously, he led AXA’s International Employee Benefits business as senior vice president and was president of the MAXIS Global Benefits Network, a joint venture between AXA and MetLife which has grown into one of the world’s largest employee benefits networks.
AXA created the Employee Benefits business to introduce its expertise to the rapidly evolving U.S. market where many important segments are still underserved. Under Balzano’s leadership, Employee Benefits presents a significant strategic opportunity for a company with AXA’s experience and resources, and capitalizes on AXA’s strong and diversified distribution networks, including AXA Advisors, LLC., the company’s nationwide retail channel of more then 5,000 financial professionals.
Balzano holds a master’s degree in international economics & finance from Université Paris-Sorbonne. He also earned a master’s degree in banking, finance & insurance from Université Paris X Nanterre, as well as acting as a junior lecturer and president of the university’s alumni association. Balzano also completed an executive MBA program in management and operations at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.
A native of France, Hervé is bilingual in French and English, and is based in AXA U.S.’s New York City headquarters.
